By Train

Bern is excellently connected to the Swiss and European rail network.

From Zurich Airport:
Direct trains every 30 minutes
Journey time: ~1.5 hours

From Geneva Airport:
Direct trains every hour
Journey time: ~2 hours

From Bern Hauptbahnhof to Hotel:
10 minutes by tram or 20 minutes walk

By Car

Bern is easily accessible by car via the Swiss highway system (Autobahn).

Important: You need a Swiss highway vignette (CHF 40) to use Swiss highways.

Bern Mobil operates an excellent network of trams and buses.

Language

Bern is in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. Most people also speak English, especially in hotels and restaurants.

Weather in March

March in Bern can be cool with temperatures ranging from 2°C to 11°C (36°F to 52°F). Bring warm clothing and layers. Rain is possible, so an umbrella is recommended.
